We need to start looking for good quality representatives for the Senate and the House of Representatives to take the place of all these stodgy people up there now. I'm not talking about Democrat or Republican so much as I'm thinking that we need good, honest people who are representative of good, old-fashioned values and in representing the people's wishes and not that of their own or a party. Maybe it's time to create a Conservative party and run on a new ticket. If enough of us back people like this, we could turn this country around and get back the values we started with.
I'm fed up with the Hollywood elite telling me what to do and how to live since most of them have the morals of an alley cat and don't have the first clue about commitment or loyalty or decency. I think it's time we took back our country from people who support things that protect criminals and who naively support someone who is willing to put our country's safety at risk to get their own way.
It's time we had someone with common sense in the Congress as well as the White House. Now, I'm in favor of Mike Huckabee. He had some sound stands on the economy as well as other areas and did pretty well in the primaries. He's a soft spoken yet tough person who won't acquiesce to those around him if he feels like their advice is wrong.
I just think it's time for new blood in politics from the local offices to the state offices to the Federal offices. We especially need new judges around the country who judge according to the law and not their own opinions.

It is definitely time folks start holding their senators, representatives, governors, and president more accountable!!! If the guy/girl isn't standing up for what you belive in.. vote them OUT!
We need to look at the constitution and what it outlines and live within those guidelines. They are pretty elastic as the founders didn't want to tie future generations to their own potential mistakes and refrained from spelling things out in too much detail. We, the people, have a great deal of power reserved to us. How we use it is up to us.
We don't need extremists or ideologues of any kind. Just plain, simple, straightforward normal citizens who have a desire to perform public service at a very low salary. People who will listen and attempt to understand their constituents. Ideologues stick with a philosophy whether it works or not and extremists spread hate, distrust, misunderstanding and animosity among all others.
I would note that all judges judge according to the law --- as they understand it! Every time a decision is rendered it will be sound interpretation to those who agree and legislation from the bench for those who disagree with the decision. Conservative presidents such as Eisenhower appointed justices like Earl Warren, a conservative, to the Supreme Court. After being on the court, the man and many others like him, changed his opinion about a lot of things and didn't represent the will of the person appointing him. The freedom to make such changes is guaranteed in our system, in order to allow for honest decisions with minimal pressure. But if you want a conservative or a liberal court, it's kind of hard to guarantee!
Obama promised change and then promply chose old Clinton people and sitting elected people. (the ones who voted FOR everything Bush wanted) No new blood to speak of to foster some Change? Not likely.
If you've even watched Gov. Huckabee on TV, you would have noticed that he's not the type to "cram his religious views" down anyones throat. Quite the contrary, Gov. Huckabee is one of the few politicians out there that has mastered the art of treating people with respect and dignity, even when he does not agree with them. He would not turn the White House into the First Baptist Church of Washington, DC as many in the media would love to portray him. Do yourself a favor and watch his program on Fox News on Saturdays and you'll find that even those who are the complete opposite end of the political spectrum from him are given fair treatmenty. I'm talking about people like Bill Maher, Richard Dreyfus and Oliver Stone, whom all seemed genuinely surprised that there was someone on Fox would actually show respect towards them (unlike some other talking heads on Fox which shall remain nameless...). I truly believe that Gov. Huckabee is exactly what this country needs, because he brings a no-nonsense, common-sense approach to government, especially with his Fair Tax proposals. That's my $0.02.
