Groups That Have Challenges (Writing, Photography, Etc.) Help Us Out & Add Your Group Here

I have a group that was having challenges, they didn't seem that popular, but I think I am going to try again for Frebruary 2009. I have to admit I have a hard time keeping up with the groups that offer different types of challenges to their members. I thought it might be helpful to people on Gather to have one place that has groups that offer different types of challenges to their members. What I would like you to do is in the comments place the name of your group, a brief description of it and the type of challenges you have, and a link to your group site. This not only helps members who might wish to participate, it also helps the groups.

I will start with my group. It is called Art - Any Medium. It is dedicated to any type of art. When we do have challenges people who wish to participate can use any medium of art they wish to use.

By the way, if you do not know how to make a clickable link in a comment try this site http://www.somemyspacecodes.com/link-code.php it makes it very easy to make a clickable link. I will spotlight this article in Art - Any Medium so people can find it. Hopefully it will help brings Gather members and groups together.

I am submitting this to groups including those I know that have challenges. If you feel it does not belong in your group, please add your group as a comment so everyone knows you are out there before declining the article.

Well, we ARE a challenge over at Gather Island, but we don't do any challenges of this nature (just the occasional Island Tale where people are invited to contribute comments to further the so-called story).

Great idea! I have two groups to submit. On is called Hidden Images In Pictures. A place to post your pictures that have natural and unexpected images within, such as seeing animals in clouds, or a face in the bark of a tree. My other group is called Our World In Pieces. This is a group for photos that depict "pieces" of something bigger. I would like to see photos that show not a whole "subject" but the smaller parts of that subject that make it work. In this group we also post a challenge called Changes in which two pictures are presented and you must find the differences between the two. We also post "What In The World Is It?" pictures in which you must tell us what an picture is of or where it is taken from.

Chana, thanks for creating this article. My group, Mindful Poetry accepts all poems written in form such as tanka, ode, sonnet, sestina, haiku, etc. Each month I feature a different form and challenge the members to write a poem in the style of the month. For the month of February, the form will be villanelle. I haven't written an article to announce that, yet.
