My husband and I have already done our taxes. We get more taken out of our check so that when the refund comes we can take a vacation. It's sort of like a savings plan for us. If we don't get it, we won't spend it.
I think this year, we're going to be able to go on another cruise. I love cruising, because no one can contact you. It's just you (and everyone else on the ship) and the ocean. Plus there's great food and entertainment, and it's all included.
Here's the part that I'm nervous about. It's been a year since our last cruise, and since that time I've lost a lot of weight. Probably about 40 pounds or so. I'm still new at making healthier choices. I know that there are a lot of good foods on the cruise, and I'm nervous I won't be able to make good choices.
Do you guys have any advice?

Is there a better excuse than I was on a cruise?
Oh and just a piece of advice on the taxes. You may want to reconsider letting the government be your savings account. Many people in California who do that will be getting promissory notes instead of their refund. If the economy does not start getting better soon I m sure that other states and the federal government will be doing the same. Plus you are not earning any interest on it if the goverment has the money.
I know it might not make sence to many, but that is my logic.
Hope this helps... other than that... I really don't know unless you want to treat yourself to a little something that you haven't had in a while?

And I agree about not letting the government keep your money interest free. Set up some kind of automatic deduction so that you don't see the money and it goes straight to a savings account of your choosing.
I've always heard you shouldn't let the government let it take out more, but many of my friends use it like you do, as a savings account. Whatever works best, although I might think twice next year. I don't want the government to bail everyone else out and run out of money before it can pay me back! LOL
