Hello everyone, this is a short update on Bruce. He is still the same, he gets physical therapy, and speech therapy. He still can not talk, walk, eat or do much else. He is in a nursing home where he has been since last July after a stroke. The staff puts him in a wheelchair where he sits for a time, but he gets very tired. Other then going for therapy, he is confined to his room. He knows us, and he knows what we say to him, so that's a blessing. I am still asking prayers for him, I believe God has a reason for this, and I'm trusting Him to heal my brother in His time. Thank you.

i like your icons... much love and hugs... see you soon... Blessings to your whole family.
Thanks for the update. All you can do is encourage him to fight the fight and do his best with the physical therapy, as much as it may feel like "things" won't come back, recovering from a stroke can be a hard road to be on and it sometimes takes a long time to get anywhere. If he gives up fighting, he won't get anywhere. My late father in law was a happy positive man in his mid 70's he was very active, dancing, golfing and running his own house inspection business from his home. He had an operation to clear out the blockage in his neck. The operation was a success and my mil went home from the hospital only to get the bad news that a piece had broke free and took out his whole left side. The operation done to prevent future strokes..caused him a major one. No more dancing, no more golfing, no more business, just a hard road to learn to walk again. After some time with a leg brace he did, but he never regained use of his arm. He was a completely different man. I had never seen him nasty in all the years I knew him. If he hadn't kept up with the therapy, I don't think he ever would have walked again, which is the point of my recollection.
My Dad died two days after having a massive stroke in the front of both sides of his brain, he never regained conciousness and never had the opportunity to fight to regain anything.
I write you this, as I feel strongly that your brother, like many stroke patients do, get overwhelmed and think they can't recover anything. Once they believe that, they won't. He needs compassion, encouragement and praise. He may not be able to respond right now, but miracles can occur.
I feel bad this happened and he is always in my prayers!
Can he blink his eyes for yes and no? I feel so bad, I hope he can improve soon. It must be so hard to see him in such a bad condition. All my love and prayers......
I cannot say I know how you feel, but I definitely know how much pain this must be causing. Like the others here, my heart goes out to you, your brother and all those who love him.
and Hugs to you
