I had to stop by and get a couple of good deals from CVS today. I ended up getting 6 shampoos and 2 bottles of laundry detergent for just over $10. Here's how:
I went in with CVS ECB's (extra Care Bucks which are store coupons off anything) for $1.50.
Here were the deals
Head & Shoulders or Gillette for men shampoo - $4.99 with $3 in ECB each, up to 5 offers
Pert Plus - on sale for $1.99
Wisk 3X Laundry Detergent - 2 for $9 with $2 in ECB, limit 1 offer
So, I started off having the cashier ring up 1 Gillette shampoo and 1 Pert Plus shampoo using my $1.50 in ECB's, a $2 manufacturer coupon (MC) on Gillette and a $1 MC on Pert Plus. That order totaled $1.78
Took the $3 ECB's off that receipt and gave it to the cashier for my next order which was 1 H&S Shampoo - so $4.99 less the $3 ECB less $1 MC for an order total of $1.12
Took that $3 ECB off that receipt and did that 2 more times for 2 more orders totalling $1.12 each.
Took that $3 ECB and gave it to the cashier with another Gillette Shampoo for $4.99 less $2.99 ECB (couldn't use the whole $3 or it would have taken it to a negative total before tax) and $2 MC so I had to pay just the tax of $0.13
Took that $3 ECB and one final order of 2 Wisk Laundry Detergents on sale for $4.50 each, less $3 ECB and $1.50 MC for a total of $4.89.
PLUS, I still have $2 in ECB's to use for my next shopping trip.
I'm sure the people behind me in line were not too happy, but if I rang all those up at once, I would end up with ONE ECB coupon for a total of $17 and I rarely spend $17 at a time in CVS, so this really gives me my maximum benefit.
My grand total before sales & coupons would have been $53.03 but after I spent $10.16 and have $2 left in ECB's to use. Not bad!
