My Wonderful Two Days

The past two days have been great for me.  I was really getting some cabin fever.  I couldn't sleep Sunday night so I was still up when the sun rose.  Yes, I did say the sun rose and was actually visible in the sky.  As I made a coffee I watched to see if I would miss the colors, but I was lucky that a line of clouds sat along the horizon.  So I jumped in my car with my camera.

I got home and was going to catch some sleep when my phone rang.  It was a friend of mine.  She explained her son had missed the bus and her husband was at work.  My friend is the type who never asks for help no matter how many times you tell her to call if she needs anything.  So I hopped in the car and took her son to school.

I had Dakota, my daughter, with me because she didn't have school Monday so after we dropped the boy off we headed back to my friend's place to spend some time horsing around.  My friend has two horses, Dakota and Phantom.  So we spent some time petting and grooming them while I caught up with my friend.  She was in a car accident a while back and I had not seen her since right after it.

We even got Dakota up on Dakota for a pony ride around.  Dakota loved it.  Since my friend has had back problems we are going to make a trade off.  I will muck stalls once a week and we will go riding then.  She always tells me I don't need to help out, but I know her back can use the help.  Dakota did really well moving with the horse, so I think she wil pick up it up quick once we start.  I just need to pick up some gear including a helmet for her.

We went home and napped and just hung out for the rest of the day.  Then today we did the same.  It was actually a really great time.  I had wanted to go out in the sunshine again, but wasn't feeling myself.  Instead we watched movies and played games.  It was really fun to spend quality time with Dakota (my daughter, not the horse....lol)
