Here is the Tarot card of the day.
The Lovers This Deck: Etteilla General Meaning: Although it has taken on a strictly romantic revision of meaning in some modern decks, traditionally the Lovers card of Tarot reflected the challenges of choosing a partner. At a crossroads, one cannot take both paths. The images on this card in different decks have varied more than most, because we have had so many ways of looking at sex and relationships across cultures and centuries.Classically, the energy of this card reminded us of the real challenges posed by romantic relationships, with the protagonist often shown in the act of making an either-or choice. To partake of a higher ideal often requires sacrificing the lesser option. The path of pleasure eventually leads to distraction from spiritual growth. The gratification of the personality eventually gives way to a call from spirit as the soul matures. Modern decks tend to portray the feeling of romantic love with this card, showing Adam and Eve at the gates of Eden when everything was still perfect. This interpretation portrays humanity before the Fall, and can be thought to imply a different sort of choice -- the choice of evolution over perfection, or the choice of personal growth through relationship -- instead of a fantasy where everything falls into place perfectly and is taken care of without effort.
This card is not what it is always seems from its' title. Connected with the sign of Gemini, it represents social skills, communication, and changeability. The Lovers card represents a strong love relationship with good communication and positive growth for both partners. Karmic relationships are shown because of the intensity between the two people. It is also related to Peace and Harmony as the figures on the card is reminiscent of the Garden of Eden. In instances not pertaining to romance, this card indicates that a choice will have to be made. In older versions of this card, a man is shown standing between an older and a younger woman--either his mother and his wife or his wife and a younger mistress. A cupid is overhead. This means he will have to make a choice. If you get this card in a reading and it appears next to the Moon card, or the 5 or 7 of Swords, a secret love affair is indicated. if a work card, say the 3 of Pentacles, a love affair with a co-worker is quite possible! | Tarot images © US Games Systems Fast Facts About The Lovers |

He's a wonderful provider, friend, and always listens to what his own soul is saying.
If a choice came between me and his mother, I believe he would take my side.
Luckily, we've never had to make that choice.
I love his mother dearly.
