Even Toilet-Paper Sales Suffer in Recession

Long ago are the days of a half a roll of Charmin for each trip to the bathroom, hehe. Back to 2 sheets of the cheap stuff. :P

You can read the full article here, but it looks like people are not only cutting back on buying, but they're also buying cheaper, private-label products. It's also suggested that some aren't necessarily cutting back, but instead, they're using up what they have stored and are buying few large packs because of prices.

Has the economy effected your family's usage of toilet paper any?

I haven't changed. I've been buying Angel Soft for 10 years. Soft and cheap.

I just don't know if it's worth cutting down on toilet paper. Yeah, the cheap stuff is less money but you end up using more of it so where's the savings?

Umm...NOPE! I'll still use whatever amount I need! I have always shopped for all products using good sales & coupons. Only difference is that if there are no sales and I need some, I'd buy cheaper generic if need be. But skimping on TP is NOT gonna happen!

I've been getting TP for free at Kroger (double coupons and a sale on Cottonelle). No TP shortage here!

No way! I will not give up my Charmin. I usually by mine at Bj's and they take a manufacturer coupon and their own coupons on the same item so I usually end up getting roughly $4 to $5 off

I use coupons as well. I still need it. I'm not using no dang boudoir (boo-day). That's for french people. I don't care how much it costs. I will still buy! :)

I've been using Scottissue for years (unless Marcal is on sale) at a cost of about 50 cents a roll. One roll lasts me a month. I can buy a 12 pack and not have to purchase any more for an entire year. The economy hasn't affected my wiping practices whatsoever.

We still always buy Charmin. We do always watch for sales on it, though, ad stock up when it's the cheapest so we never have to pay full price. I don't think we've bought any for a while, since last time we did it was the cheapest we had ever seen it and I had better than normal coupons, so we really stocked up.

I never did like the slick pages in catalogs. I don't think they do a very good job. I prefer the newspaper and sometimes that's the only thing fit to do with it anyway.
