January 2009 exploring High Falls in North Alabama ( A Photo Essay)

After a 5 year drought...we got rain....lots of it! My husband has lived here all his life in North Alabama and had never been to High Falls! So, I put on my hiking boots and picked up my camera and announced I was going on a 'Magical Mystery Drive' and he was welcome to come along....but I would not give him any other information....

I was wondering if that was ice in that photo too. Fabulous photo essay. Looks like it was a beautiful day. Photo 11 was my favorite although I really love falls something about this one grabbed at me.

Wow! The farthest north I ever got in Alabama was the Birmingham Airport. You DO know that the tooth brush was invented in Alabama, don't you? If it had been invented anyplace else we would be calling it a teeth brush! ;-)

Fabulous photos! What a great waterfall that is. Somehow those Christmas decorations in front of the trailer lose some of their effect without snow- I have plenty I could send them!

your shots remind me so much of GA falls/rivers.....the shaded icy areas do look treacherous
