From 5 to 50: Two Birthday Cakes

This past weekend my boyfriend Tom had to make two birthday cakes. One for our grandson who was turning 5 and the other for our sister-in-law who was turning 50. Compared to the cakes he made in the past, these were fairly easy. But he had to do both on the same day as both parties were on the same day.

 

The first cake was for our grandson. His party was at the bowling alley so Tom made a bowling alley cake. I have already shared with you a video of him carving the little bowling pins out of candles, but if you didn't see it, you can find it here.

The second cake was for our sister-in-law who was turning 50 so Tom wanted to make her an over the hill cake. Here are pictures of that cake being made.
