I dunno, but for some reason my ratings from anything I posted today are low!! Did i do something??? I didnt do anything wrong.... I just wanted someone to vent to on Gather, anyone who would listen, I wasnt asking for anything, oh wait, cept for one, I asked what you did for money online and which ones worked... Someone wanted to be a party pooper I guess... But, I've had party poopers before in my life, But i never let them poop on my party! lol. All that matters to me is that someone cares and i'm not alone in this twisted up world.

Alternatively, look up the definition of an internet troll. It has nothing to do with ratings. Ratings are supposed to reflect a legitimate opinion about a piece--a recommendation (or otherwise) to other readers. Of course, on Gather (and elsewhere) it mostly becomes a kindergarten-level "I like you" vs. "I'm not being your friend." But it's still not trolling. A troll is someone who posts inflammatory, irrelevant, or off-topic messages with the intention of getting an emotional response out of people. Someone who doesn't say anything cannot be a troll. Someone who expresses a genuine, truly held opinion which is relevant to the topic cannot be a troll (even if they disagree with you, and even if everyone agrees they're wrong). A troll's intention is not to discuss, but to create drama and get attention.

The problem with the above comment is that gather is a 'community' - it is not mandatory to cross all ur t's and dot all ur i's - so it's redundant 2 low-rate simply 4 a grammatical error. The main problem with the trolls is that by expending so much energy running around low-rating they are creating an image that they are not trying 2 get 2 know others in the community
Every member I know who has a personal troll is either someone with a lot of friends and activity, or someone with strong religious or political viewpoints, who someone else sees fit to thy to shut up. Whichever it is, I'm glad it isn't working! ^_^
