This Is What I'm Talking About
by Marilyn Mackenzie
Remember the poem and information I provided the other day called, "What in the world is fibro fog?"
This is fibro fog!

I opened up the cabinet under my kitchen sink, and lo and behold, there were flowers under there!
Hmmm.
I think that someone from my church gave them to me after church one Sunday, but I'm not sure how long ago it was. I think it was after I was in the hospital, then ran off to Pittsburgh for my aunt's funeral. But that was back in December. Surely they haven't been under the sink ever since.
But...they must have been.
I sort of remember putting them there - I think - because hubby and I were going somewhere and the cats were so interested in the flowers that I figured they would knock them over, break the vase and put water everywhere. Plus I wasn't sure what might happen if the dogs and cats tried eating them.
But then again...I could be imagining remembering too.
Yeppers, that's fibro fog. Want some?
My world...and welcome to it.

So yeah i can relate.
They not only make great donuts but, also, pizzas to die for. I think we were just going there to grab some donuts that afternoon.
It was back in February or March of 2007--not long after meeting Russell online (January 15)--and I was bending her ear about him and went right past the donut place!
So, I turned into the car wash that was practically across the highway from it, and--still blabbering on about Russell--headed towards Nick's Donuts and kept on driving east.
So, I turn around in the parking lot of Marsh Supermarket (somewhere under 100 feet from Nick's going east and on the same side of the highway), and I think that I returned to the Marathon Car Wash one more time before finally pulling into Nick's Donuts.
Methinks I've just described to you a full-blown case of
spring fever
which is a very close cousin of fibro fog! LOL
sorry you do.
Your poem is wonderful, btw. It reminds me of freewriting and paints a picture of a wandering mind.
A good picture.
Sorry that you have this, too.
I tell people we have to laugh about it
or we'd spend all day crying.
I know EXACTLY what you're talking about
with the Fibro Fog.
Everything Marilyn, and a few others here at Gather have said about laughing about it is true. Making it a fun time, including in conversations with others, beats the beans out of enduring the frustration and emotional stress that would come with doing it the other way. And the neat thing is Marilyn and I support each other on this so we can really have some fun verbal exchanges when this stuff happens, and be making sure we KEEP it on the fun side of things at the same time. In the sense of dealing with that, and all the other symptoms of Fibro, it's neat that we both have it. We dont have to explain it to each other; we just keep each other updated on what's hurting. But I still wish her symptoms weren't so darn severe.

Now, for an encouraging word...His (The Lord's) strength is made perfect in weakness...
So smile! Be encouraged! You're doing great things for the kingdom of God despite your fibro fog!

Leaving a 10 for you !
The worst was when I walked off with someones check book. I returned it to the church. I couldn't face the woman. She handed it to me so I had a hard surface to write something down on. All I know is I found it in my pocketbook a few days later. She was a neighbor of someone who worked at the church, so she got it right back.
I am always putting things in my pocket or purse. Kinda funny I guess, but I tucked my wallet under my thigh while in a store on my computer. I forgot and looked all over, even asking the manager of the store if someone turned it in. There it was tucked between me and the seat.
This is one reason I don't like going anywhere on my own. It is like short term memory lost.
I don't have the fibro, but I sure have the fog. LOL I do goofy things like that all the time. Usually they are discovered by the person I would least like to find out.
Look on the bright side, FLOWERS! :)
I know... kind of silly, but better to smile than to frown.
God bless you...
They are doing research on Fibro all the time. One day they will find the key to unlock it.
I think I was most disappointed that I didn't get to enjoy them. I'm sure they were under the sink for months. I guess the environment under the sink was such that they were able to dry out without first dropping all the petals. :)
Indeed, one day they'll probably find it was something quite simple. Meanwhile, it would be great if I had some income.
