Great tunes, Doug. I've never heard of any of these people. I had a hard time hearing the singer in Go Sailor, and it was hard to tell what the last group was singing about. But the music was good in all of them
Thanks, Patti. The Go Sailor singer is clear on the CD, but the YouTube version is not the greatest quality. I couldn't find "The Ballad of the Insolent Pup" on YouTube, so I just grabbed something else by Thee Headcoatees. They are kind of punk in a lot of their songs, so it's hard to make out all the lyrics.
Thanks for the links. I read some of the gabfest. Glad to know you've been to New Orleans, one of my favorite places. We always stay in the French Quarter so we can walk to everything. Never been during Mardi Gras and don't plan on going then!!!
I've only been to New Orleans once-- not during Mardi Gras! I do like being able to walk rather than drive. We went downtown just once to ride the streetcar. We passed the Garden District, but didn't wander around there. We visited the aquarium and zoo and rode the steamboat Natchez. It was a fun trip.
I've been several times. I've been to the zoo and aquarium also and visited the Garden District when Anne Rice lived there. I've eaten at Cafe Du Monde, Pat O'briens and a lot of other places. I love New Orleans. I'd live there if I were rich!!!!
