Well, I'll officially become a South Carolina resident this Spring.
After some talks with my family and some potential layoff news that's upcoming for my roommate early this summer, I'll be moving to SC in April or May. It will most likely be April though. I have a lot of things I need to get in order here and also there before I can make the move.
I'll be putting the bulk of my things into a climate controlled storage unit close to where I'll be in SC and moving into my mother's property in Surfside Beach. The place is already furnished. So furnature wise, only my bed and file cabnet will go into the house. Storage space there is also limited and I'll need a place for most of my belongings and keepsakes as well as seasonal items.
It's kind of hard packing up and leaving a city where you've spent the last 17 years, especially with pets in tow. So I have mixed feelings on the subject. I think for the most part I am excited. I've kind of been at a crossroads in life for a while now and could use a change of venue to jumpstart my life. It will also be good to be close to my folks when my step dad's cancer starts getting the better of him and also to be with my mom when he is no longer with us.
I plan to go back for a visit in early March. So between now and then I'll be liquidating things I don't need or want. I'll also be figuring out exactly what will go with me so I know what size storage area I'll need.
Oh, the joys of planning a move, ugh!
