Every year the girl cousins on my dad's side of the family get together for a little retreat at Mahoney State Park. We rent a cabin for two nights, bring wonderful food and drinks and make merry.
Friday afternoon the weather in eastern Nebraska was somewhat of a micro blizzard. For about two hours visibility was poor, so I waited until 3:15 PM to start out, by then most of the snow that was moving around was due to the strong winds, the pictures taken first were upon my arrival at the cabin.
I was the first to arrive, soon to be joined my cousins Sue, Mary, Michelle and her two boys. Altough this year not everyone that usually comes could join us, there were a few younger second cousins that have little ones that came out on Saturday.
We did watch a few movies 'Fred Claus' and 'Mamma Mia'; and we ate barbeque and runzas just to name a few. The roaring fire helped keep us warm. We were quite entertained by yellow stuffed duck that sang the 'Chicken' song too. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Friday January 23, 2009 - the wind was blowing snow causing the temps to drop and remain in the single digits most of the weekend.
