Last night, I received an email from a Gather friend. She was concerned about me, and took the time to send an email... I cannot begin to tell you how much that meant. It, actually, inspired me to open up, and post an article about the pain I am experiencing, something I'm not that great at, as I'm the one that is, "always smiling".
After getting that email, and reading the responses to the post I made early this morning, it has really gotten me thinking. I am soooo, very, grateful for the dear friends that I have made online through the years. One lady, I started speaking to about eight years ago... she's in New York, me in Oklahoma. We have never met in person, but she is still one of my closest friends.
After my post this morning, many of you know that I have been in a controlling, abusive relationship, where I was not "allowed" to have friends. My online friends have been the ones that have gotten me through. My kids used to tease me, that all my friends were "in my computer", but you know what... that's fine with me! I have gotten to know some of the most wonderful people, that I would have never, otherwise, had the opportunity to correspond with. They have brought so much love, joy, and hope into my life.
For all my friends, I want to thank you. And I just want you to know, although I'm a 'stranger' on the web... I appreciate you!
And, of course, a special shout out to Tee B, who got me back on here again! lol
Hugs,
Alicia
