Whenever I go out on a photography expedition I like to take photos of all the usual things. Waterfalls. Mountains. Birds. Old buildings. No kittens or puppies, though!
But, I also like to look for the occasional odd subject. Something that most people don't look at as a good subject. Here is an example of what I mean.
On the banks of the Hood River I found a big piece of corrugated metal pipe that had been placed there by one of the many floods that come down through the canyon.
This is a huge pipe. For a little perspective, here's a shot of me next to the pipe.

After I found my subject, it was time to go to work. walking around it, looking at it from all different angles to see what I might like the looks of. This is what I found.

I hope you enjoyed this walk around a big ol' crumpled up pipe.

Great photo essay.
And there's those darn rusty nuts again ;~)
This pipe was about 8 feet in diameter and 30 feet long before it got balled up. Every couple of years this section of Highway 35 gets big floods from snow melt off. This pipe came down the river a couple of years ago along with half a mile of highway.
