I just found this company called KGB which is sort of like ChaCha.  It is a question/answer texting service, but instead of being free like ChaCha is, this one charges per answer.  There are work-at-home opportunities as a KGB "agent."  You answer text questions for 10 cents per query.

I know it doesn't sound like much, but at 20 cents per question answered at ChaCha, I am actually making an excellent supplemental income!  ChaCha isn't hiring right now, but KGB is!  Hope this helps some of my friends here on Gather who have tight budgets!  It looks fun AND potentially profitable!

I saw this too and checked it out a few weeks ago... sounds interesting for sure. Maybe their guides/agents will get more questions than guides at ChaCha have been getting? I heard it's been very, very slow over there lately and people who used to make a lot of money are hardly making anything anymore.

So you are actually still doing well at ChaCha? Everyone else I've talked to isn't having much luck. I am an expeditor over there and haven't signed in for months because last time I did... I only got a few questions within a few hours.

Faith, there have been changes made and if you do not correct your settings with ChaCha you won't be getting many questions. Before I figured that out Missy was only getting a couple questions an hour, but now she is back to back again and is always busy when signed in. Its a great way for her to work and still be home to concentrate on her schoolwork.

I was thinking about checking them out. I currently do ChaCha as an Expeditor and Voice Transcriber, but I sometimes think that answering the questions would be more interesting.

yes, i'm still working for chacha... and i've made more than $60 today! i do make a good supplemental income with them... but, i work hard and always make 20 cents per question... i had to tweak by interests a bit, but i've gotten them pretty much back to back for the last few weeks now. :)

kgb looks cool too. i just applied to be an agent. their test is a little hard, though! lol! i was sweating a little as i took it!

here's a hint: keep another search window open on your browser and quickly look up answers you are unsure of!

I have had little problems with the slowdown at ChaCha. I guess that I picked the magic keywords. Still, the constant changes in how they want us to answer things is frustrating.

KGB pays less, but I just may check them out.

Gwen - I went over to ChaCha after I posted here and realized that there have been a LOT of changes since I was there. I need to read about all the changes before I try to get back into expediting again because it's so confusing. There are all these extra buttons and I see that expeditors can actually answer questions now. weird

I took a look at an article about this, and it looks like they are paying even less per question than ChaCha-- "up to" 10 cents per question. That doesn't sound very enticing.

I just did my first shift (a short 30 minute one to see how it was in real time) and made 20 cents
Not much, but it was fun and better than nothing. I think if I paid more attention to the questions coming in I could have snagged some more!
