Woman arrested for rolling back prices

NATCHEZ — A Walmart employee was arrested on charges of embezzlement after allegedly selling more than $500 worth of merchandise for only $5 Thursday.

Erica Marie Jones, 20, 38 Windy Hill Road, Roxie, reportedly charged Tiffany Williams, 22, Apt. B, 426 Watts Ave., one one-hundredth of what she really owed.

Williams was charged $5.25 for seven pairs of jeans, a baby crib, a pair of scrubs, a picture frame, sweat suit, laundry detergent, a bra, four pairs of pants, diapers, pizza, coffee, four 12-packs of drinks, canned goods, air freshener, nachos, noodles, frozen goods, chips and a family pack of beef.

The actual total for the merchandise was $547.50.

Had an aquaintance in NY once that was arrested for shaving prices for her friends at a Butcher Shop. She went to jail when her boss pressed charges...she had lost him thousands of dollars over a years time!

Well that happens alot there is a way to do it ! Sometimes they do not always get caught.
It happens in the USA also you just do not hear about!!

In most states, it's thief by conversion if you go into a store and change a price on an item. We had that trouble at Wal Mart all the time and wound up giving them that stuff.

Our Walmart has someone at the front of the store that checks the receipt with the merchandise in the cart.

It is not said but there could have been a machine error involved. Some of the clerks at WalMart are not bright enough to spot such an obvious error or else don't care. Since she never got out of he store with the merchandise I assume the Sr. Citizen that checks things at the exit caught it.
