Since I started my weekly blog several months ago it has been my intention to try to keep things positive as much as possible. I make life observations, relate them to my quest to balance the day job, and family, and writing. But today, I have Monty-stinking Python in my head with the song, "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" -- and I kinda want to take the record and chuck it across the room.
I've been on vacation this last week. I had a pretty easy going day on Monday. Tuesday I watched Inaguration stuff and promised myself I would get stuff done that I wanted to do over the rest of the week. Then Wednesday morning I woke up with a horrible cold, that still doesn't seem to want to break -- and I have to go back to work on Monday. I have done diddly squat for writing, and probably wouldn't be writing this if it were not for being blog day. So, I'm pushing through-- even though I feel like a tow truck has landed on my face.
I'm crabby and have the "need to write, but don't know what" urge. It's like staring at the blank slate -- and wanting to chuck that across the room too. I guess there's a lot of things I'd like to chuck across the room at the moment. Is that normal?
I did get some knitting done, and went grocery shopping-- which is good because it is now -10 degrees. It may get a little warmer, but not much. And there is one errand I should try to run this afternoon before going back to bed. I'm hoping the wind isn't too bad.
So here's the blog because I said so-- at least it's something, right? Now I'm back to knitting another row on the baby blanket. I'm down to the last half skein of yarn. If I'm lucky maybe I'll be done with the blanket and my cold by next Saturday. I'll be holding my breath.... if for no other reason because I'm congested and I have no choice.

Why, yes. Now, here's a tip... when everything you own is actually in a heap across the room from all that chucking, it'll be more efficient to just move your computer over there, so you can slowly, over time, chuck everything back to where it belongs.
BTW, I am reading No Sensible People and I like it (I knew I would). More later!
Ack, sending you some Florida warmth. (We'll take some snow if you have any available!)

I have one piece of advice for you..
Get some much needed rest. At least for an hour or so. Because that will definitely help get your creative juices flowing much easier.
I threw my back out last week, and have been unable to move without shooting pains. Thank God for chiropracty. But I was only able to take my Christmas tree down today, between the back and new job, and family.
Good for you to push through and write!
Jesus Love You Too!!!!!
