Computer still being babysitted by Geek Squad!

Here I am at work, grabbing just a couple of minutes of down time just to let you know that my computer is still in the hands of the Geek Squad.

The diagnosis: Fried mother board and power supply.

Conclusion: I am still with out my computer. I grab hubby's laptop from time to time, but basically I am without a computer until I hear from the squad.

I just want to let you all know that I am living and doing fine. I miss you all!!!

Ouch, power supply is not so bad, but motherboard is bad news. I hope they get it fixed for you soon.

We all miss you! Burned out power supply, no biggie. But burned out mother board, that's a different story.

They will charge 500+, new notebooks are about 600

like your new avitar, it is new isn't it? being without a computer to me now is like having my car in the shop or the electricity turned off from a bad storm, so I know how you feel, it is awful

Ouch, sorry about your motherboard. The one on my old one went out with the power supply outlet so I know how you feel.

I believe that's what happened to mine. The motherboard anyways. I'm just getting a new computer soon(ish) Not worth the price of getting it fixed. Besides....I want a new toy....lol

Fried motherboard and power supply? Does that come with fries? :)

Seriously, I'm sorry that happened. A dying power supply can easily fry the motherboard. Hope you're back up soon!

Some of you must have missed my previous post...Under warranty for 4 more days when it happened. All will be taken care of at no cost.

If I had had to fork out the $$$, I would have just bought new.

Depending on its age, it may be cheaper to replace than fix if both power supply and MBO are gone. That usually means some other part or parts will also have electrical compromise. Sorry you have to deal with this.
