i love this photo!!
My Mom passed on Feb. 1st a few years ago, not too fond of that date; or Aug 18th, my younger brother... I loved them both.

Your mother sounds like she was a wonderful woman.

Lisa, oh I'm so sorry that you lost your parents so early - I'm almost 60, in May so I think that is still young. I know how much you must miss her.
Oh Dorine - somehow that makes me feel so wonderful and blessed, thank you my friend.
Thank you Tammy very much. (more later). Thank you. SAlud
It never goes away, I think... I've had that horrible flu that has been going around, and almost wept to know that 'Mom' wasn't going to climb the stairs and see if I was allright.
It is when we are sick I think that it really comes home how alone we are now.
Love ya M.

Yes, Esther, mama was 86 and I wish she could have made it to a 100 but it was her time to go - and when she lived on this earth, she really lived and she was in a good spiritual space always. Sometimes, we get to know our mothers more after they are gone than in the day by day events we share with them. Salud
Judy G. I know how much your mother meant to you and I'm glad that I got to know them vicariously throught your early posts and Gather. It was also good that we talked in person. I hope love that the pink rose bloomed for you - that's her way of saying that she loved you. Blessings. Salud
Thank you Bob - in ways we already do! Salud
My Mom is 92. I ended up having to put her in a nursing home which I said I would never do. But I see her every day. She actually enjoys having so many people around. I think she enjoys life more. What a relief.
Bless you Mariana, take care
Sorry about the loss of your Momma, I don't know that the emptiness every gets any easier, but I still have my Momma, I will share with you. Just get your butt down here and leave the hurricanes somewhere else.
Wish me luck, I am gonna need it.
Phyllis - oh bless your heart - thank you. She was a beautiful person, inside and out - I wish I were more like her - I lack her patience for sure.
Elsie - yes, I am blessed and I am so sorry you lost your mother so very young - yes, your children are truly truly blessed to have you as their mother and for so long - I know that each one of them appreciates you as much as we here on Gather do. Thank you.
Thank you Amy. Thank you Kylee.
Glome - you are blessed to still have your mother - mama would be turning 90 in September - oh I wish she were still here...blessings to all. (more later) SAlud
The photo shows two beautiful women; who looked so much alike with the same love of life shining through them. Memories can get us through a lot -- both of my parents are gone and I miss them every day.

Blessings always my friend.... Salud
You have a beautiful Mother, thanks for sharing her with us.
Hugs and blessings - S.
I so appreciate these comments and yes, we'll always have our mothers - isn't it wonderful that memories bring them back to life again! Salud
Sorry I am late to this--have not been on Gather much this week with work being so very busy, but thanks so much for your comment on my Water of Clay poem and the suggestion--I have wanted to do a photo/poem book for a while now, I will surely check out the website you mentioned.
I feel blessed to have you as a friend...your comments are always so unique and filled with love, I treasure that ;-)
I love the picture! You really resemble your mama!
What a treasure to have such a great picture of you together!
Like all of the many others here I congratulate you on keeping a good relationship with your Ma.
You both look like beautiful women. Life is quick. Even after eight decades, those who've traveled that long wonder how it's gone so fast. Obvious you know how to enjoy it. did you learn it from your Mother? Looks like that was the case.
Thanks for sharing,
Adrian
That is a beautiful photo. Your mother was a beautiful lady as are you. I am sorry for your loss
