After all he did have to retake the oath. And he didn't use a bible this time but I don't know if that is a requirement. The bible is probably just for show anyway.

Are you saying that Chrissy Mathews is a right winger? I think he felt a tingle up his leg when Obama speaks or so he said. He hardly sounds like a Republican.

According to these reports, it's a good thing they administered the oath again, since it's written in the Constitution how it's supposed to be said.

The constitution is clear about the exact wording of the oath and as a result, some experts have said that a repetition was probably unnecessary, but also could not hurt. Two other previous presidents have repeated the oath because of similar issues - Calvin Coolidge and Chester Arthur.

Moot point. He retook the oath with the correct wording.

To my knowlwdge, this is the first time that a President had to take the oath of office a second time.

Fact: The Consititution clearly states regardless of the circumstances, including the ceremonial oath, the President elect becomes President at 12:01 EST on Jan 20th. Case closed, they need to move on.

I thought he was just real nervous, and perhaps Roberts should have broken it up in smaller pieces. Though, I bet he did fine in practice sessions. I'm sure it bothered Obama more than anybody else... and maybe Matthews I guess.

Ummmmmmmm, I heard on the news that they were monitoring white supremists and neo nazi sites... these are hate groups... I did not here them say a thing about them checking on gather.... besides even if they were keeping up with this site... you have freedom of speech as long as your not threatening the president . because threatening any president not just Obama is against the law..
Another point , is if they were to watch this site, they would also see, how bad President Bush was bashed on here... SO , I think it works both ways....
