On Friday, many of you know that we got some mice as pets. On Tuesday I noticed one of the babies - the smallest one - looked a bit off, but it was still running and fine, so I didn't worry too much. I put it back in the cage and the adults looked after her.
Yesterday I saw her looking much worse and I became concerned. She was such a strong little girl. She became paralyzed slowly, but still she dragged herself around, ate, scratched itches and tried to stand.
She died last night in my hands trying to breathe (it appeared she was gasping for breath - her tiny mouth was opening and closing.) Due to that I'm suspecting a URI was partially or completely the cause. The shops here ALL use TOXIC pine bedding and even tell YOU they use it and you can use it too. (I should do a post about that soon - inform those that don't already know.) So when she came here where we use ASPEN which is SAFE it was already too late. :(
Here she is on Tuesday in Gideon's hands.

Amanda, perhaps. She was losing movement of her legs one by one and lived for hours after her use of her legs was limited to crawling. :(
I am looking forward to the post about the proper bedding to use. As we have a rabbit now and I knwo some beddings can be use for rabbits that mice use as well.
Paying it f?rward t?day!
poor little thing, sad that shes gone
