Yesterday From Jason Mitchener

Yesterday, my pains were more than usual.  Yesterday, my mind was a bit fuzzy, and it was not from taking pain killers.  I hate taking pain pills.  The ones I'm prescribed don't really take the pain away.  They make me not care that I have pain.

Yesterday, I opened my email devitional from Jason Mitchener and discovered that his topic was one that I needed to hear.  I do love how God works!

Here's the devotional I received yesterday.  I hope you'll visit Jason's web sites and learn a bit more about this inspiring man.  Even though his life is not what anyone would consider perfect - at least physically - he is able to share his love of the Lord.

Groaning

And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.  Exodus 2:24-25

Sometimes our pain is so great that all we can do is groan. No words can express our heart's cry.

When the Israelites suffered under Pharaoh's harsh treatment, they groaned. Because of God's covenant with Israel, he heard them and answered their prayers.

You are on your face, praying. You are weak and tired from pain. You open your mouth to pray. No words come.

You try again.

Nothing.

Only a small groan rumbles up from the depths of your heart.

God hears. He remembers his Son's blood covenant with you. Your soul gains an entrance into His presence.

God sends two angels to comfort you. One angel soothes your spirit as he whispers encouraging words in your ear. The other one knocks on your door. This angel is more fleshy but nonetheless heaven-sent. A brother in the Lord has come to pray with you.

You may be in pain. You're hurting more than you can bear. God hears your groaning. Trust Him.
