Regarding my other post about President Obama's speech.
I definitely realize that there is still racism in this country. But none of us can allow a few fools to keep us from becoming everything we can be. Don't let someone's foolish ways keep you from being the person you are. Don't let anyone's opinion hold you back. I have lived through many things that would have killed most people but I refuse to allow those things to change who I am or prevent me from living out my dreams.
Everyone experiences things in life to keep us from realizing our dreams. Some experience things that are worse than others but we all have challenges to overcome. My only point was not to allow the color of your skin define who you are because you are more than that. We all are.

I was surprised at the messages being told in churches across our land to people of color. And in that same forum, my friends were astonished that white churches very rarely mention color, and if they do, it's to remind everyone that to God color does not matter and we are to love and befriend everyone. They assumed since their pastors were telling them that the rich white man wanted to keep them down that our own pastors were preaching about doing that as well.
