Left-Handed Presidents

Okay, there may be hope for Obama after all.  "They" say that lefties are the only ones in their (our!!!) right minds.

Here are the Presidents who were left handed:

 

  • 20th James A. Garfield
  • 31st Herbert Hoover
  • 33rd Harry S. Truman
  • 38th Gerald Ford
  • 40th Ronald Reagan
  • 41st George H.W. Bush
  • 42nd Bill Clinton
  • 44th Barak Obama

Notice how we have more lefites now than in earlier years? That's probably because they used to force kids to be right handed.

I read, years ago, in my neuropsychology book that actually about 95% of lefties, studied were also ruled from the right side of the brain, just like righties.

I wonder if such studies have been done on those who are abidextrous?

Kelly, I'm not sure if you're "oh no" is intended to be a good thing or a bad thing. Good, I hope. My dad is a leftie, and he's one of the ones that is part of the group Marilyn referred to. In his early school years teachers made him try to learn to write with his right hand. Result? When they finally did away with that idea, he didn't have all those years to practice his left-handed writing and he's always had a very unique style to it. If I can find a sample of it I'll post it here so you can see what I mean. And the oldest of my two younger sisters is ambidextrous. Sheesh. Guess my family covered all the options here. My mom, my other younger sister and I was/are all right handed.

Not too good a line especially with the first four were not that good of Presidents. Reagan was better than the first four, but questionable after that.
Then Clinton who had a free ride on the economy, and blew that. As well as his whole Presidency. I guess a fare trade off for getting blown so much by the interns.

Yeah dan, Clinton ruined the economy but left the White house with a surplus. Bush killed that. Not Clinton.

Bryan, this is the last time I'll respond to your lame and crude comments.
Clinton was warned from 1995 through 2000 that we were heading toward an economic crash. From 1997 to 2000 he had been warned that the crash would hit around 2003. Clinton spent and never did anything about the pending crash.
His Economic gain started under Bush Sr., peaked under Clinton, and started its fall under Clinton. It had nothng to do with either President, but the dotcom boom, which brought tons of money into many economies especially the US. But because of the poor management of many of these businesses, they took the economy with them when they crashed because of the amount of quick climb in the stock markets, and the number of investors involved with these companies.
Clinton did nothing but ride the wave, it was a complete free ride for him. And when the crash started he never lifted a finger to start anything to help us.

I picked up on that, too--always nice to have one of us in the White House!

Bit of trivia: They always refer to Paul as being the left-handed Beatle because his guitar-playing made that so obvious.

This would leave the impression that the other three were right-handed.

Not so!

I've noticed in later years that Ringo is also one of us right-minded people!
