The Inauguration of Barack Obama and Social Networks

I am @ work today and missed see the Inauguration of Barack Obama. But with the increased use of Social Networks I was able to be a part of the global information sharing on this day. I was on Twitter.com for the last couple of hours off and on while working. I was able to learn about CNN streaming over 13 million streams in the past 7 hours from Mashable

I was able to read the speech given by the 44th President of the United States on CNN within minutes of delivery. I saw www.whitehouse.gov change over from one President to the next.

Here on Gather I am able to read the thoughts and opinions of many of you that I would be in contact with.

The internet has allowed global interaction on an amazing, enriched level. Social networking sites permit us a window well beyond our own backyard =) It is hopefully a continous walk toward each other as a world of amazing human beings!!!!
I was at work also, but the internet permitted me full feed of the inaguration and all that followed. A remarkable, beautiful day!!!! =)
