a hospital stay didn’t go my way,
a test didn’t turn out well yesterday,
a scare like this is all one needs.
we all are living on borrowed time.
some verdicts are final, others
can be warnings, this one stops
you cold and knocks you down,
life is a gift and and ends for all.
happy, free, unaware, without worry,
then one day, comes the word,
it’s cancer and you’re the one,
we are all living on borrowed time.

Joel Osteen often speaks of his mother who was told she had only "so much" time. But they put all their faith in God, Jesus and prayer. She is still with them today.
Prayers and blessings to you.
Life is life and death is it's undeniable truth. All I know is that we have two ways of living it. One is in the fear of the coming death or the other is in the love of whatever the days we have in our hands. Glass could be empty or full... it all depends upon how we look at it. So I tries to live my life fully and as nicely as possible because I never know whether I will live tomorrow or not regardless of me being healthy or being sick.
Thanks for posting it on Humar Me
Take a minute to think... All that we do are things that we are encouraged or taught to do. If we are taaught to do things that are righteous, then we know that we are bound for eternity and life everlasting. It is sad that we have to go through the pains that come with living with the wicked and evil ones but knowing that that one day will come when all that causes pain and sorrow will be gone. Always make this your point and when you right the words happy, free, unaware, without worry you will mean just that and your smiles will never be wiped away...
GOD bless you...
I tree speakes to me too,
And, I sincerely hope that you will heal and live for many more years to come.
Only the lord truly knows when it is time for you depart.
Have faith and have heart that you will be fine.
I have been praying, meditating and exercising to keep my chin up through this! I should know in a week or so if my tumor is operable. At that time I'll bet another poem will surface -- thank you all once more! You certainly have helped my spirits!
Of course, I will loose 1/3 of my right lung, but a very good outcome (complete cure) is very likely!
So very glad and happy for now! Will see the oncologist in AM! Keep your fingers crossed and keep me in your prayers! Love to you and yours, one and all!
Just met Jennifer on Gather this morning ... what a talented young woman! Then I found you here and read this very powerful poem about your cancer diagnosis. I was happy to read your comment on Jan. 28, "a very good outcome (complete cure) is very likely!" That's the best news possible ... good luck as you proceed through this.
borrowed time but not borrowed line this too will pass
Every day is a bonus, I wish you good health, and I was impressed by your poem.
