Our Art Director Jet Amago is finishing up the art for our newest Karma product, Karmic Places: Blacktip Bay. Blacktip Bay is a former pirate cove that has evolved over the decades into a thriving (and rowdy) seaside town. This supplement includes the complete history of the town, current state of politics, important NPCs, plus new monsters, disciplines, gems, and specialty goods that can be folded into your game.
Blacktip Bay is controlled by Orcs, though other races are found in the town as well. It's a combustable mix of ancient shamanic ways and new consumerism; tribal customs and more cosmopolitan desires; political intrigue and good old fashion dungeon delving. Blacktip Bay can serve as a launch point for fantasy games, or as a unique stop along your primary adventure.
We hope to have Blacktip Bay ready for release by mid-February. Until then, here is a sample of some of the art from the project. A character portrait of Councilman Pytron Flamestrike.
Flamestrike came into Blacktip Bay four years ago, introduced himself to then Councilman Klun, and promptly challenged him to a duel. A second after Klun accepted the challenge from the unarmored and apparently unarmed Flamestrike, his remains were nothing more than a pile of ash. It seemed Klun had insulted Flamestrike's family a decade earlier, and Flamestrike had sought him out to extract revenge.
Flamestrike really didn't want a Council seat, as he had not intended to stay in the backwater town. But the orcs had assumed the challenge was issued for the seat, and to explain otherwise would have raised unnecessary questions. Though he considers the town filthy and primitive, its location makes it worthwhile and holding a seat on the council affords him the leverage to ensure nobody pries too much in his business.
