After several lengthy discussions, my husband has decided to take another advanced programming class this coming semester. Even though he was having a tough time with the basic level programming course last semester, he was also taking 5 other courses. Eventually he made a B in that course. This time, he is only taking one course. So he's confident that he can get at least a B.
I bought the $103 textbook for him on Amazon.com using the free gift certificates I got from my online survey earnings, so there was no out-of-pocket cost. I also checked textbook.com (advertised on Gather), which offered the same book at $100, but that would be totally out-of-pocket. So I still got a better deal from Amazon.com.
Hopefully he will make at least a B to keep up with his GPA, and still have enough time to help me out with things at home.
