An 81-year-old woman, who died after being mugged in the street, was ignored by passers-by as she cried for help.
Police said that Molly Morgan susĀtained head injuries suffered in the attack on her from behind - yet people who could have helped her thought she was drunk.
She was left on the pavement for 10 minutes before eventually being taken to hospital on Thursday evening, but died the following day from her injuries.

Probably out of fear of getting sued and having their entire life torn out from under them by an ungrateful person.
Not saying that I would ignore someone in need, but unfortunately we have conditioned people to not get involved because not all states or countries have Good Samaritan laws to protect such individuals from ingrates.
Most states have a good Samaritan law on the books Julie and that init's self is a lame reason !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Using multiple exclamation points does not automatically make you right.
My point was our current culture has conditioned people to not want to get involved out of fear. The recent California case is an example. California DOES have Good Samaritan laws, but a judge ruled that the law did not fully protect a good samaritan from civil action. The by-product of having a sue-happy society is that people don't want to be bothered with each other.
"and because lawlessness will increase, the love of many people will grow cold." ~ Matthew 24:12
Such a shame... and such things most likely happen all the time in "civilized" societies, unnoticed by the majority of people who are happily humming along thinking everything is fine. Even if they thought the woman was drunk, she was elderly, for goodness sake, and should have helped her. My heart goes out to her daughter.
wishing you laughter
I never would have said it did I just use them to make a point
Being afraid and turning your back on someone in need doesn't make one right either
