When you go out to eat . .

When you go out to a restaurant to eat, do you try something new from the menu or do you look for something familiar?  I like to try new things.  It makes for a more memorable dining experience.  So I'll usually order something I've never tried before just for the fun of it.

How about you?  What do you do?

it depends on my mood and the company. alone, i tend to stick to favorites. with friends, more adventurous.

It depends for me, too. There are some places we go that I LOVE a certain item and that's what I always order. Other restaurants I order something different every time we're there.

It's rare to go out and eat anymore - I need to find a good decent restaurant with good service as well as good food - believe me, I am a nice person but don't give me a snobby ass waiter because my husband will write NO TIP in huge letters if the service is crappy - it just happened at one of our favorite restaurants - regarding food - I tire of the same food but I have a funny stomach so I stick with salads and soups. Salud

If it's a place I've never been to before I generally will try something new. Sometimes with a place I'm familiar with I'll try something new. However, there are some places the only reason I go to that restaurant is for one particular item.

I love to go out to eat ... it's such a treat. At certain places, I always get the same thing ... The Wild Onion makes the BEST Chopped Salad (with Grilled chicken, bacon, tomato, avocado and crumbled bleu cheese). DiGidio's has a fantastic Spicy Penne Arrabiata that I always order. I guess it depends on the place ...

I branch out sometimes. It depends on the restuarant. There are a couple that I order the same thing because I know I love it and I always hate when I get something new and don't like it.
I pretty much always get the same thing because I am afraid if I try something new I won't like it then I will have nothing to eat!! Don is the opposite, he pretty much always tries something new-which I will try his and if I remember I will order it the next time. There aren't many restuarants by us so we tend to hit the same ones!

I used to be a picky eater and no am a creature of habit. I do venture out sometimes and always if it's somewhere we haven't been. I have favorites at most restaurants. My husband usually tries something new.

I like to try new things. Sometimes I eat with my eyes and if I don't like the way something looks, I can not bring myself to eat it.

it is according to how hungry I am. If I am really hungry, I will go for something I know I like. If I am not that hungry, I will try something new

Out to eat? What a concept! A rare treat for me. That's why I usually go to places I've already visited, where I know the menu and I know I'll be satisfied with whatever I order.

I take a taste of someone else's while I eating something I'm previously familiar with. Sometimes I find things I like.

My kids are really adventurous, always trying something new, some of it is nasty, some has turned out to be good. They eat everything.

I try to be adventurous, but there are certain foods I don't/can't eat, so sometimes I go with the safe bet. Other times I try something new.
