Photos from our shore excursion at our fifth and final port of call, St. Thomas. We took a tour of the mountains and stopped at a very beautiful lookout point which was a variety souvenir shop overlooking the mountains. From this wonderful spot we could see all of St. Thomas and the surrounding islands and Megan's Bay, which is really beautiful.
Can you tell DH is in a little bit of pain here?

There's our cruise ship, way down there! Our suite is on the other side of the ship.

Looking down over the island and at some other islands. Yes, our tour guide told us which islands these were, but darned if I remember!

Another great view.

Zooming in on our ship, Caribbean Princess.

This is the beautiful Megan's Bay. We went to this beach on our last visit to the Caribbean and I wasn't impressed with this beach. It was right after a hurricane, but still nothing IMHO to write home about. It's pretty in this view though.

OK, here's the islands you are looking at in the scenic shots. Our tour guide was wonderful, telling us all about the islands. I'll put some of the history of St. Thomas in my photo essay of miscellaneous shots, sunrises and sunsets which I hope to do soon.

This is the shop we stopped at that had a wonderful over view and I really got some wonderful shots of the area as you can see. We didn't buy anything here, but we did think we missed our tour bus, LOL. We went out about five minutes before the appointed time to wait for the bus. It was five minutes after the appointed time and we thought we missed the bus! The shop is at the bottom of a hill and we thought well maybe the bus is up there.......so we trod up, gimpy me and limping jack. So one of the other tour guides asked us who we were looking for, we gave him the tour bus number and he helped us look around and suggested that we just hop on with him since they all go back to the dock and we wouldn't be stranded. So we hop on board and just as he was turning around, yep, here comes our bus! Problem is for us, we were at the top of the hill and he was going down to the shop. So the bus driver tells us to just go down those stairs over there, it's a short cut. DH decides to hobble on down the hill and I decide to take the stairs. He figures he can hobble faster than me. I can only go down one step at a time. Oh, he didn't tell me it was four flights of steps;( DH got there first and we just hopped up on the bus like nothing happened, but we weren't' feeling too happy right then. Oh and did I mention, it was hot!

Closer look at Megan's Bay.

In this one you can pretty much see all the islands in the sign above.

The next few pictures are taken from a different look out. This man and his donkey were a big attraction. You could sit on the donkey and have your photo taken for about $10.00. We passed, but I did love this little guy. Adorable.

He wasn't too pleased that I was taking my own pictures;)

So here are 40 more photos of St. Thomas. I still have the butterfly conservatory, flowers, and the miscellaneous photos along with the sunrise and sunset photos to post. Three more photo essays. I'll try to get them out quickly. As always I hope you'll take a few minutes to watch the slide show since all the photos are not posted in the article. I hope you've enjoyed the tour so far.

I am just stopping by to thank you for praying for my daughter-in-law and the twins . . . also, to let you know that I am praying for you as well.
It looks so lovely there.
I know my mother's favorite Carribean island is St John's - one of the Virgin Islands.
Someday I'll go on another cruise.
Looking forward to your next installment.
I hope the little donkey sees a good portion of whatever the man makes.
Like the pic of hubby and the pirate:)
I love that Donkey
