In 2005, Pedigree began a national fundraiser and awareness drive designed to help homeless dogs. Now, Pedigree has a bit of help. DreamWorks Pictures, Nickelodeon Movies, and Paramount Pictures have joined forces with Pedigree to help the more than four million dogs that end up in shelters or breed rescues each year.
Unfortunately, nearly half of these never find a place to call home. In the movie "Hotel for Dogs", orphaned siblings work to save homeless dogs. As they search for homes for the animals, they hide them in an abandoned hotel. Shelters attempt to do this each and every day. They need help.
For every ticket sold to "Hotel for Dogs", Pedigree will make a donation to help shelter dogs. Pedigree will donate a total of up to $250,000, which will go through the Pedigree Foundation, which was started in 2007. The Pedigree Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides funds to 501 (c) (3) status animal shelters and breed rescues.
Going to the movie or adopting a shelter or breed rescue animal are not the only ways of helping. Local shelters often need donations and volunteers to help take care of the animals. Donations are needed in the form of money to buy for medicine, food, and other supplies. Donations of homemade items such as bedding materials may also be needed. The local shelter can provide guidelines of acceptable donations. Contact them today to get started making a difference in your own neighborhood.
