Good evening everyone. I have today's song ready for you to decide which is better.

I have noticed a few comments lately about not liking certian types of music. I just wanted to say that with the many different people here on Gather it is impossible to pick something everyone will enjoy. There is always the option to say I don't like either version but I do hope that if I choose a song that you would normally not listen to  that you will give it at least a few moments to listen to it. You may be surprised and like it. I know this has happened to me many times.

I am a big fan of Bob Dylan I love his music he is a great songwriter but I will admit at times his voice leaves little to be desired. There are Dylan songs that I like his version better. This is not one of those times. I like the Guns N' Roses version better. This actually was a hard choice for me. They each have their own twist on the song. I do like both versions.

What is your choice on this song?

Guns n Roses all the way! I don't even have to listen to the music to know that.
I've loved GNR's version ever since I heard it years ago.
I never truly liked Bob Dylan's voice.

I still don't get why people are so into Bob Dylan, the guy can't sing worth a lick, he is a decent songwriter, but many give it over to someone who can sing (such as Axel Rose) and you get a much better, and I mean MUCH BETTER, version of the song.

Chris, this is one tough call. Bob Dylan is the original but I have to say that Guns N' Roses did a great justice to this song.

GUNS N' ROSES is my vote tonight.

Ann, you are right. I give Dylan the credit for composing the song. Lots of credit. That's why it's a tough call.

Clapton but Jery Garcia does a great version also and that would be my favorite ;)

I was actually going to put the Clapton version up too Marianne but could not find a good clear recording of it. All the ones found were kind of muffled sounding.

I LOVE the Guns N' Roses version. That has always been my favorite. My dad used to sing this song to me when I was little. And he would always try to sound just like axle rose. It was hilarious! :)

Dylan, himself, admits that his singing is not up to par, but he did write a good tune, here. The GNR version is good, for sure. But I can't vote, because my band does a version of this tune. Maybe we will get a recording of it to post, sometime.
