Unaccustomed light, mine eyes blink at the sun.
Peeking upward, its warming rays dance upon my face.
Misty, dark habitat wherein I lie, brings
Warmth, comfort, safety and the peace, so needed.
Turning inward, curling, moaning onto myself.
Nothing is as is, only heartache in the sunshine.
Asking, choices, good or bad, knowing right from wrong.
Questions, always questions, answers unknown.
Seeking meaning, wondering why, I should ever return?
To be only beaten down with words and disrespect.
Over and over and over and over and over again.
Loved ones whispering, whispering, come forth but,
Broken hearted fear, rejection, looms above.
In an imperfect circle, incomplete, without you.
Unaccustomed light, mine eyes blink at the sun.
Peeking upward again, its warming rays dance upon my face.
Tempted, fingers flowing on a keyboard, I begin
Again, my sobbing heart wrestles with adjectives and verbs.
Nothing flows but the tears upon my face.
Retreat......
