On the flip side

The light side

The night side

The dark side

The hard side

The easy side

Between the sides

Is my side.

 

The flip side

Is this side

Is that side

The wrapped side

The mentally

Undecided side

The gentle side

Is mine.

 

On the flip side

The hip side

The older side

The cold side

The warm side

The torn side

The mended

Undefended side

 

On your side

Before sides

The shore

Of the war slides

The poor

Getting poorer

'Sides it isn't my

Fault or yours.

 

Besides

On the flip side

I guess we really could've tried

Some more.

Sheila what I find interesting about this piece...........is that when I began reading it, I joined in the light hearted melody created by the cadence of the words. But I soon saw that I was off tempo when the subject became a bit more serious.

Sheila, catchy rhythm! And nice swinging slide from lightness to depth, apathy to meaning. I also liked how your last stanza jolted with its departure from the repeated easy sing-song of the previous verses, like a singer suddenly dropping the melody and just speaking to the audience.

Sheila, another, my favorite, poem. Really moving.
Were there Poems in your Drabble book? Probably not ... the Drabbles in your articles are a very different nature than the two poems I read.
You have a wonderful mind for poetry. I would actually like to copy both so I can reread them. That says a lot about the quality.

Oh my gosh "Poetry Please #63" ???? Does that mean there are 62 poems before this one? Obviously I haven't ben keeping up. The main thing I remember are your Drabbles :)
