I've been hearing stories lately of how people are finding that losing their job during this recession can be a blessing. Watch this story from ABC News:

Have you or someone else you know lost your job and found something better as a result?

A few months into unemployment, my friend called and said there was a parttime job opening at the college she worked for and the person doing the hiring was a friend of ours also. I took that job with the agreement I'd stay for a year. That was almost 4 1/2 years ago.
While I lost health insurance, the parttime job I have pays me nearly what I made fulltime. No, there aren't any perks like sick days or vacation time, but I do have a retirement fund with them. Also I don't get sick very often since switching to parttime hours and there is time to do the things I was always "going to do some day." Since my kids are grown and on their own, I don't need to work another job. I can live on what I make.
YOU CAN RISE ABOVE REALITY
Courage is the power to face your difficulties.
It comes from the reserves of your mind that are more powerful
then any of your outside circumstances.
When you recognize that you are bigger than your problems,
you gain the courage necessary to overcome anything.
Your obstacles will look large or small to you according to
whether you are large or small.
Courage is the capacity to confront what can be imagined.
It gives you the ability to rise above reality.
You are more important than any of your problems.

This is a wonderful article. The sad thing is insurance is what holds people to jobs they should walk away from.
