Just a little update for those who read my previous article. The house that was burned down was unoccupied and was in shambles. A lot of you were worried about a family losing their home but that was not the case which is a relief.
We've had that sort of thing happen in abandoned houses around here. Kids get bored and go set a fire. Red tape prevents the city or anyone from tearing them down! I sure hope that's not the case in your neighborhood.
Wow, thank goodness, no one was living in the house.....you know, this winter it seems like there have been an extremely lot of fires here in Iowa......just the other day, two houses burned up......in one of the fires, four people died.........horrible, horrible tragedies, at any time, but in the frigid temperatures, all the worse.
well that is good news not that anyplace burning is good news. around here there have been a few old condemned places that were donated to the fire dept. and set a fire by the fire dept. just for practice
Well, that's something at least. There was a fire down the road here at a trailer park... that WAS occupied and it's a total loss. I think the woman didn't make it out either.
Thanks for the update. Kelly, I caught your comment that is was owned by another city council member. Coincidences usually aren't coincidences in those kind of situations. Has there been any ongoing issues as far as code violations or tax issues with the property? Are they investigating the fire further or did they write it off already???
