Last night I came across a fun series on Hulu titled Shikabane Hime (屍姫). The English translation of that is Corpse Princess.
I've only seen one episode so far, but what I've seen makes me want to watch the rest of the season (which, thankfully, is available on Hulu). There is even a second season starting this month in Japan; I don't know how long it will take for it to come to the States, but I hope that it isn't too long.
The story is about a girl, Makina Hoshimura, who is one of the living dead. She had returned after being murdered. Now, she must hunt down other shikabane and kill 108 of them in order to gain entry into heaven.
The debut episode was short, fast-paced and action-oriented. I expect that the rest of the series will follow in the same vein.
The series is rated TV-MA. While it is animated, its intended audience (as is true of much of anime) is older teens and adults.
