There is a spot in West Fork, Arkansas that has become a favorite haunt for Deb and me. There are bluffs that run along the edge of a river, ancient rock that seems to carry the primal paintings of time. We visited there this past weekend, it was a sunny but cold day and it was invigorating to be outside.
Come join us for a walk.

I am always reminded of the true definition of tenacity when I see this tree that has taken up residence in the rock.

Abstract moments abound and one can lose track of time in this place.

We've debated about how this Christmas cactus came to reside in such an unusual spot but there it is, hanging on for all its worth.

It seems that time and nature have created their own hieroglyphics.

Perhaps this youngster will become good company for the tree down the way? I hope to watch it grow and see what it makes of itself.

These rocks remind me of what it means to be steady, strong and lasting for they have weathered more of this world than can fit into my conception of time.

Always, when we spend time in this magical spot, I leave refreshed and profoundly grateful that I live right here, right now.

I love the sculptured shapes and shelves that the rock has settled in.
Just beautiful. Thank you for sharing this with us.
The last photo with the water takes my breath away.
I think we all need to be reminded about how lucky we really are to be here and be here now. Even when we think it's not all that great.... We're still lucky.
That Christmas cactus just blows my mind!
Love and hugs - S.
