Yeah I didn't know it til a friend of mine told me today. I was telling him how I wish I could do more stuff with my kids but money is so tight we living paycheck to paycheck just barely. So he told me this and I talked to the lady at the YMCA and she said yeah definetly! Awesome .. then it just so happens it is down the street from my house too!

Thanks. I did not know this. We have a wonderful YMCA that I do not take advantage of enough. I am planning to go tomorrow. I do get a reduce rate for low income, and I am borrowing money for college right now, I will ask them about this.

I need to use my membership at the fitness club, since I have a lifetime membership. But I can't find anyone to go there with me to swim. I heard they no longer have contracts and you pay by the month now. I thought of getting Tracy a month's membership when the weather warms up and we are off work so she can go swim with me.

Unfortunately, there is no longer a Y near us. I used to love going to ours though when I was a kid.

The girls have been bugging me to sign them up for swimming lessons anywhere. We lost our rec center and they have been deprived of swimming lessons. The nearest pool is about twenty minutes away and the prices for swim lessons are very high so it is out of the question right now.

Yeah I live right by the YMCA and never knew they had this program! I guess it is nationwide! I think thats awesome. I hardly ever get to get out and do things with my kids as a family because everything is so expensive .. if I get approved (don't see why I wouldn't) then we will be going all the time!!!! Its not close enough to my house to walk with four kids but it is down the main road .. maybe 2 miles at the most. So we could go all the time ..

I am so praying it all goes through!

I had no idea about the scholarships and financial aid. I'm very glad you posted this. It could make the difference between someone getting to go or not. It makes me more inclined to make a donation to the Y. Thanks for writing this up.
