I love the YMCA. They are awesome. They offer so many services for families and kids. Our local YMCA has a brand new very large fitness center. It is complete with programs for kids and adults of all ages. Today I found out that they all offer 'scholarships' and 'financial aid' for families. They said they don't want lack of income to keep families from being able to enjoy their services. I thought this was awesome! I grabbed and application and will be dropping it back off tomorrow.
The receptionist at the YMCA says all YMCA's offer the 'scholarships' and 'financial aid' services. So if your low income and would like to be able to use the services of the YMCA stop by your local YMCA. Its simply a short one page application. They take about ten days to give you a response.
Good luck!

Unfortunately, there is no longer a Y near us. I used to love going to ours though when I was a kid.
The girls have been bugging me to sign them up for swimming lessons anywhere. We lost our rec center and they have been deprived of swimming lessons. The nearest pool is about twenty minutes away and the prices for swim lessons are very high so it is out of the question right now.
I am so praying it all goes through!
