I also love the sound of children laughing, and the sight of people hugging, music that makes me dance or cry, a book that sucks me in and removes me from the world around me, seeing people succeed at things they've worked hard to achieve, and a meal that tastes as great as I anticipated.
Finding people who believe in the same things that I do and respond to my writing.
Having people appreciate my comedy when I do auctions or perform.
Being a slutty lounge singer in the shower - Woot!
My dogs greeting me when I come home.
Fresh sheets.
A footrub from my husband.
Real butter. (I have low cholesterol nananana)
My kitties clambering onto my lap.
An email from a friend.
A phone call from a friend.
A card in the mail that says, "just thinking of you."
Holding a newborn baby; human or animal.
Watching my children in their successes in life.
Aren't all these reflections of little things that bring joy just great!?? I'd be in bliss, I think, in front of that fireplace listening to jazz (new age and some alternative musics, and/or classical).
And it brings to mind another joy, that of watching any adult totally focused and absorbed in the moment of playing with their happy baby. That moment when nothing else in the world exists for them. I've found myself stopping in the middle of a busy store, enraptured by the scene. Life, in that moment of magic, is good.
Hugs and blessings - S.
Others include finding a favorite song on the radio, a good piece of dark chocolate, finding something I was afraid I'd lost, a phone call from a good friend who is just checking in, the changing leaves of fall and then the first really warm day of spring.
