I have heard people complain about small graphics and such being left in pings, in comments and etc. I have also heard the opposite. Where members love seeing them as long as they are little.
I rather enjoy the smaller ones that don't take alot of room up. I think they can be very expressive to use instead of words at times. Or the ones that has some words on them.
Such as :
I mean I have days were I feel like
,
, or even
at some of the posts I read here on Gather.
So, my question to all of you is : Do you like the little graphics, blinkies or smilies on your comments, pings and other such things? If not, why not?

However, HUGE graphics can be a problem on content threads. The larger or more complex an image, the longer it takes to load. This can slow down the display of comment threads for dial-up users and those on a slow internet connection.

i think those who complain about them not because they are slow to load, but just because in their opinion they are childish,or whatever, should just chill the heck out!...there are more important things going on in the world to be upset about than to waste time complaining about glitter code graphics,eh?
cheers,gayle
I never thought about the taking too long to load problem. I think I will try not to use larger graphics from now on, because of that. It's easy to forget that not everyone has the same type of connection as you.
