Woman arrested for having dead baby in carry-on luggage

PAPAU New Guinea police have arrested a woman attempting to carry a dead baby in her hand luggage on an internal flight.

Police in PNG capital Port Moresby were called to the airport today when security discovered the dead baby in the woman's traditional string bag.

Everyone knows dead babies have to be checked for storage in the baggage compartment and are strictly prohibited from carrion. It's the no carrion carry-on rule. Learn it. Love it. Live it.

Actually you can carry them on but it must fit under the seat in front of you. You cannot put it in the overhead compartments because everyone knows, contents of those compartments tend to sh*t during flight.

Well, they do still practice cannibalism in Papua New Guinea. Perhaps it was one of those pay-for-snack flights and she was bringing her own.

doyle, i always carried my dead babies on. and yes N.K. i always put them under my seat since your not allowed to carry them on your lap. i have a special travel sized coffin for mine that fits perfectly in the under seat area.

It's a REALLY tough airport security place. Just last week police arrested a PNG Highlands man for having a rocket launcher and nine grenades in his luggage when travelling on a flight to Mt Hagen police station. Just CHECK your luggage people! Stop trying to carry ON everything! You KNOW they didn't need that rocket launcher or dead baby until they landed.

The only time I ever really had any difficulty in travelling was taking a human head in a bowling bag. The airline wanted to charge me to check it. I argued that it could fit easily in the overhead compartment. They said, "If it has a head and it's not in the cargo section, you have to pay for a seat". So, in the end, I ended up paying extra for a little 'head room'.

i like to keep my valuables in with the dead babies. keeps people from stealing your wallet.

True CC, that works. I've always found that if I pack my valuables in a ziploc bag filled with manure, most people will stay away from it. They also tend to avoid me especially when I pull out the bag at the Starbucks counter and start picking out loose change and peanuts...
I prefer to ship them in cold packs.

That is awful. I read the original and what I didn't get is how did the baby die? If they weren't sure the baby was her's what was she doing with it? Bizarre.
