I knew someone who would take a can of biscuits, cut a hole in the middle, and deep fry them. Then he would put powered sugar icing on them. They were really good and very easy.
Lera..................I use the refrigerator biscuits all the time........... 10 fresh donuts in 15 minutes for about 50 cents works for me. I frost some with maple icing, use cinnamon and sugar on the holes. If I have any peanuts handy I make peanut sticks by using a thin powdered sugar glaze and then rolling them in the chopped peanuts!
I've made donuts, cake and raised at home. Haven't done it in years. You really need a deep fryer or a heavy pan to do it. Unless your stove is a monster you can't make very many at a time. They're good, though.
another way is to buy some and put them on a platter ~ not near as much fun, but fun ~~~ thank you for sharing the recipe dear friend ~ am printing and storing for one of those sunday morning cooking extravaganza's ~j
