The snowfall of Saturday Jan 10 slowed things down, but I guess we winter fools must be getting used to it as 16" didn't shut things down. When it ended by mid-afternoon the shovels and blowers and plows went into action. Thank goodness it was in the 20's and no winds to cause drifting, and the snow was light and fluffy.
Sunday turned bright and sunny, which helped those who cleaned get back down to seeing pavement again. Roadways were clear, just wet. That was good practice for the upcoming week, as a little more snow is predicted, but this time coming with the bitter zero weather. Even the South may get a taste of the cool.
With the sunny skies and church bell medleys playing at noon, I felt up to a ride to attempt a different photo shoot. We always see various shots of Seagulls, but usually around those sunny, warm beach areas. Let's give you some new winter views from down by our beach marina. You Florida people may want to make some hot chocolate for this.
INDIANA SNOW-GULLS AND FOWL WINTER 2009
Move over, I'm coming in for some of that food.
Don't mess with me, I'm the KING around here.

Forgot the boots to go out and play.
Hey, you humans snuggle up and sleep when it's cold. We have an ice blanket.

I know there used to be some nice warm sand around here??

That water is tooooo darn cold.........I'm going for a walk.

What are we dumb feather-ass birds waiting for out here on the ice??

HELP!! I'VE FROZEN DOWN AND CAN'T GET UP!!

Who's going to get that crumb?

No more food. Let's get outta here.

Thanks for stopping today. Hope you enjoyed lunch with our winter Snowgulls.

Glad to see the snow is making it's rounds. Lately it feels like we are the only ones getting snow.
PIF>>>
When we lived at the beach we hated when visitors would rent the rentals around us and feed the birds. Deck cleaning got old lol!
I saw, but no camera in hand a gaggle of geese in a perfect snow/ice setting and had to wonder why they are still here - too far north to be comfortable.
I'm heading south in a couple of weeks with to apologies or excuses. And yes, I am a SNOW BIRD. (but one without feathers)
They are great photo's!
We haven't had any new snow for a week and that's fine with me. The old stuff is still here but melting. Now we have the daily "freezing fog." More on tap for tomorrow.
we have snow gulls up here too!
