President Bush sounds a warning for his party on "Fox News Sunday." He concedes that his party "got whipped in 2008" because of the war but a come back will be difficult "if the party is viewed as anti-immigrant."
Don't be anti-immigrant but remain anti-tax and pro-military. "We shouldn't change our philosophy," he said. "We may want to change our messaging. We definitely want to change messengers. We need a new group of leaders."
Right. New leaders Bush said. Do they still respect his opinion or are just pretending to when Democrats are bashing the man?

Small government, low taxes, control of government beaurocracy, control of spending, Strong military that protects our country not every country in the world. Limited foreign involvement except for trade.
Jack, for the life of me I can't make sense of your post.
I also don't think the war doomed the GOP in 2008 but a combination of things. The war was barely a blip on the radar according to exit and advance polls. We'll see if they can get a message out and get off this quasi Dem light thing. As long as many of us see no difference between the two parties anymore, we'll vote 3d party or give up.
