Most of you know I've been researching and writing about foods that heal. Cinnamon, garlic, turmeric, etc. I've read study after study of the basic health giving components of various food and spices. I created a web site, which has been doing very well attracting viewers, I'm happy to report.
This morning Dr. Isadore Rosenfeld, one of the most admired medical advisors in the US, author of nine best selling boooks on health, verified what I've been writing about, the healing power of Spices!
I was thrilled to hear him speak highly of the healing power of Spices. Aside from garlic and cinnamon, two of my favorites, he touted the healing power of turmeric, especially on it's action against cancer and Alzheimers. I use it daily on eggs, salad and/or soup. It's also a natural painkiller and cox-2 inhibitor.
I started using it to help lower my inflammation which has been shown to lead to heart disease and other major health problems. Inflammation can damage the inner lining of the arteries and make having a heart attack more likely. However, the connection between high CRP levels and heart attack risk is not very well-understood.
Along the way, I not only lowered my CRP levels, I found my arthritis pain gone, except for a now and then twinge here or there. But the daily pain is gone. Was it because I use Turmeric daily?
When you get a chance, I hope you'll read about other spices at my web site. I'll post a link in the comment section.
I so strongly believe in the healing power of food and especially spices. Hope you'll check it out.
Turmeric should not be used by people with gallstones or bile obstruction. Though turmeric is often used by pregnant women, it is important to consult with a doctor before doing so as turmeric can be a uterine stimulant.
Important: Not all spices have been tested on people. The information above, unless otherwise noted, is from traditional information from publications, folk lore, and some animal studies. Use any food or spice supplement with caution and medical advice

One of the major problems though now is our current agriculture systems. But that is for another article when I've finished the researlch. For now, hope you will take a few minutes to go to and bookmark, Healing Food and Spices
Very worth your/my time in research.
Psychology Today had a large section on spices, too.
Yes, they are excellent.
I have mostly fresh fruits and vegetables. Plants are such a healer, whether fruits and veggies or real, live spices grown in our gardens.
The spices from the spice section in the store are preserved, dried, less useful. Often full of sodium or preservatives.

I too, am a believer that God put certain healing foods here for us... If we looked we would find a cure for everything right here on this earth...
Thanks, for a good article.
